A Baltimore Countertop Company With 650+ Projects Behind It

TopStone Granite is built around one idea: the company that fabricates your countertop should be able to install it and fix it years later if something goes wrong. Many fabricators stop at installation. We also handle chips, cracks, failed sink mounts and worn stone, which keeps us honest about how countertops hold up over time.

The 650+ jobs behind us span the full range of countertop work:

  • Kitchen countertop replacement on existing cabinets
  • New kitchens, islands and peninsulas for remodels and additions
  • Bathroom vanity and laundry room tops
  • Bar tops, service counters and other commercial surfaces
  • Repairs to chipped, cracked or dull stone and loose undermount sinks

Baltimore homes teach lessons a showroom cannot. Floors and walls in older houses are rarely level or square, rowhome stairways leave little room to turn a slab, and many kitchens have been remodeled more than once. We template, plan seams and schedule carry-ins with those realities in mind.

Our customers range from homeowners replacing a dated kitchen to remodelers who need a dependable fabricator on their schedule. Restaurant and shop owners come to us for bar tops and service counters that take a beating every day. Repair calls usually start with a chipped sink edge, a cracked overhang or an undermount sink that has started to sag, and our countertop repair service handles each of them.

Being open seven days, including Sunday from 9:00am to 9:00pm, means you can call or visit when your own schedule allows, not only during weekday business hours.

License, Insurance and Credentials

Maryland requires anyone doing home improvement work for homeowners to hold a license from the Maryland Home Improvement Commission (MHIC). TopStone Granite is licensed under MHIC #145977. You can confirm it in under a minute on the state's public license lookup.

Very few countertop companies in the Baltimore area publish their license number. We put ours in plain sight because checking it is the first thing a careful homeowner should do.

Working with a licensed contractor also gives you access to the Maryland Home Improvement Guaranty Fund, a state fund that can reimburse homeowners for actual losses from poor workmanship. Our warranty page explains how that protection works alongside our own coverage.

We are fully insured. Commercial clients and property managers can ask for a certificate of insurance before work begins.

If a brand certification or industry accreditation matters to you, ask us before you choose a slab. We will tell you plainly what applies to your project.

Who Installs Your Countertops

It is a fair question, and most countertop companies never answer it on their website. Your project is measured, fabricated and installed under TopStone Granite's MHIC license, and we are your single point of contact from estimate to final walkthrough. Our step-by-step process shows what happens at each stage.

Sink and faucet hookup is plumbing work. Maryland's State Board of Plumbing requires plumbing to be done by a licensed plumber, and it publishes a notice on unlicensed plumbing work. Your quote states who disconnects and reconnects your sink, faucet and disposal, and whether that work is included.

Whoever you hire for countertops, ask these questions before you sign:

  • Who will be in my home on templating day and installation day?
  • Who handles the plumbing reconnect, and do they hold a Maryland plumbing license?
  • Is everyone who works in my home covered by the contractor's insurance?
  • Whose MHIC license number is on the contract?

Our Shop on Moravia Park Drive

Our shop is at 5921 Moravia Park Drive, unit b6, in Northeast Baltimore, close to I-95 and Pulaski Highway (US-40). That location keeps us within easy reach of the city, Baltimore County, Howard County and Anne Arundel County. See the full list of areas we serve.

This is where slabs are cut to template, edges are shaped and polished, and sink and cooktop openings are made before anything reaches your home. It is also where custom countertop fabrication details like waterfall panels, inlays and drainboard grooves come together.

You are welcome to visit during business hours to talk through a project, bring a cabinet drawing or ask about remnants for a small vanity or laundry top. Call ahead if you want to see particular samples so we can have them ready. Directions and hours are on our contact page.

How We Control Silica Dust

Granite, quartz and quartzite contain crystalline silica. Cutting, grinding and polishing them can release fine dust that is a serious lung hazard for the workers doing the cutting if it is not controlled.

We follow OSHA's respirable crystalline silica standard when we cut and finish stone. In February 2026, OSHA and NIOSH published an updated hazard alert on countertop fabrication and installation, and it is worth reading if you want to know what responsible shops are expected to do.

The risk is to fabrication workers during cutting, not to families using a finished countertop. An installed quartz or granite top does not give off silica dust in normal kitchen use. For the full picture, read our guide to whether quartz is safe.
